Help Us Build What God Is Growing

Alex Azu ·

Dear friends, family, and all those who have walked with us in prayer,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am writing with a full heart, because we are standing in a moment that many of us have prayed for over the years. As a church, New Identity Christian Centre has carried the burden and the hope that God would establish us in a permanent place where ministry can grow, lives can be discipled, and the community can be served with greater consistency and stability.

By the grace of God, we have now stepped into a new building.

That alone is a testimony.

The Bible says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it” (Psalm 127:1). We know this work has never been about our strength, our ideas, or our efforts alone. The Lord has been the one sustaining us, opening doors for us, and carrying us step by step.

For a long time, we have had to move, adjust, make do, and keep pressing on through the uncertainty that comes with hired spaces and temporary arrangements. Yet through all of that, God has remained faithful. He has still saved, restored, healed, strengthened, and raised people up. We have seen the hand of God again and again.

Church has never simply been about a building. We know that. The Church is God’s people. At the same time, a stable home matters. It gives room for ministry to breathe. It gives people somewhere consistent to gather, to grow, to pray, to be counselled, to be discipled, and to serve. It gives the work of God somewhere to take root more deeply.

This building means more than just a property

It means a place for worship.
It means a place for prayer.
It means room for pastoral support and administration.
It means space for children, young people, families, discipleship, and community outreach.
It means greater stability for the work God has entrusted to us.
It means we can continue to build with less interruption and more capacity.

In Nehemiah’s day, when the people saw what God was doing, they said, “Let us rise up and build” (Nehemiah 2:18). That spirit is very much where we are now. We believe God has opened a door, and now we must respond in faith and obedience.

As part of the Assemblies of God family, we believe deeply in the call of the local church to serve both spiritually and practically. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of Scripture, and the importance of churches that are grounded, healthy, prayerful, and active in their communities. This step is significant for NICC, and we do not take it lightly.

But we also want to speak plainly and honestly.

We still need help to secure this fully

Although we have made a major step forward, we are still working to raise the remaining funds needed towards the deposit so that we can secure the building fully and move ahead with confidence into this next season.

God has already helped us. We have seen generosity. We have seen sacrifice. We have seen people stand with us in prayer, in faith, and in giving. For all of that, I am truly grateful.

But we are not yet at the finish line.

This is why I am appealing not only to our church family, but also to friends of the ministry, well-wishers, leaders, and all those who believe in the kind of work God is doing through NICC. We need people to stand with us in this moment and help us close the remaining gap.

Scripture reminds us that “the silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:8). Everything belongs to God already. We are simply trusting Him to move upon hearts and to provide what is needed for the work He has set before us.

Why this matters so much

This is not about image, and it is not about appearances. It is not about having something impressive to point at. It is about obedience. It is about stability. It is about creating room for what God is already doing.

Over the years, NICC has ministered to people from different walks of life, including many within the migrant community. Our heart has always been to serve people both spiritually and practically. We believe there is still much more to do, and this building gives us capacity to do that work with greater consistency and care.

At NICC, we often say Raising Champions. That is not just a phrase to us. It is part of the burden God has placed on this ministry. We believe in seeing people built up in Christ, strengthened in faith, established in truth, and equipped to fulfil their calling.

The apostle Paul wrote that the work of ministry is for the “equipping of the saints” (Ephesians 4:12). That is part of what drives us. We are not simply trying to gather crowds. We are labouring to see people formed, matured, and established in Christ. This building will help us do that more effectively.

How you can stand with us

1. Pray

Please pray for us earnestly. Pray for wisdom, favour, provision, peace, and grace. Pray that every remaining need will be met. Pray that this building will be a place where Jesus is lifted high and lives are genuinely transformed.

We are holding onto the promise that “my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

2. Give

If the Lord places it on your heart to support us financially, I would encourage you to do so. Every gift matters. Some may be able to sow a one-off seed. Others may be able to give more regularly over this period. Some may feel led to make a larger contribution towards the remaining deposit need. Whatever the amount, we receive it with gratitude and prayer.

The Bible teaches us that each person should give willingly, not reluctantly or under pressure, because God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7). This appeal is not about manipulation. It is simply an invitation to those who feel led to partner with what God is doing.

You can give directly through our website by visiting our Donate page. If you are a member or regular attendee, you can also give through the Member Portal, where your giving is tracked and Gift Aid can be applied where eligible.

If you would prefer to give by bank transfer, please contact us and we will gladly share the details with you.

3. Share

Please also help us by sharing this appeal. Even if you are not in a position to give personally, you may know someone who would be willing to support this work. Please share this with friends, family, church leaders, ministries, and others who may want to sow into what God is doing in Cardiff.

A personal thank you

To everyone who has prayed with us, encouraged us, stood with us, or given already: thank you. I truly mean that. We do not take any of it for granted.

Moments like this remind us that ministry is never carried by one person alone. God uses His people. He moves hearts. He opens doors. He provides through willing hands.

And we take courage from Galatians 6:9, which reminds us not to grow weary in doing good, because in due season we shall reap if we do not faint. We believe this is a season to keep building, keep believing, and keep trusting God.

We believe God has opened a door for NICC. Now we are asking for help to walk through it fully.

If this ministry has ever blessed you, prayed for you, encouraged you, or helped build your faith, this is a meaningful moment to stand with us in return.

And even if you are just hearing about us now, but you believe in supporting gospel work and community impact, we would be honoured to have you partner with us.

Give now via our Donate page or contact us to find out other ways to support.

Thank you for every prayer.
Thank you for every seed sown.
Thank you for every message, every share, and every quiet act of support.

May the Lord bless you richly.

With love and gratitude,
